Tyranid Mod is a mod for Dawn of War: Soulstorm that adds the Tyranids, a predatory hive race inspired by the Warhammer 40k universe. The Tyranids seek no diplomacy: their goal is to consume all living matter on a planet and strip it of resources, leaving behind dead, lifeless worlds.

In Tyranid Mod, you can either command the devastating swarm or fight against it in skirmish mode.
Playing Tyranids means a change in familiar style: instead of fortifications and positional warfare, you get aggressive mobility and a flexible army composition that can be adapted to the opponent’s tactics. Fighting Tyranids creates a sense of an approaching threat: the battlefield quickly fills with flesh and predatory forms.
Tyranid Mod is often a dependency for other, larger mods, but its development has been discontinued. There will be no planned 0.6 version with development paths, and no 1.0 version with a full campaign. This also means there will be no official adaptation of Tyranid Mod for Dawn of War: Definitive Edition.
In the latest 0.5b3 version, the developers separated the code and animation files so fans can more easily create add-ons, rebalance the mod, and add new models, helping keep the project alive through community support.
How to install a mod Tyranid Mod
Run the installer to install the mod into your Dawn of War: Soulstorm folder.
The installer will list four main components: the mod itself, DoW Mod Manager, and two additional mods — Objective Points Mod and FreeUI. This mod depends on Objective Points Mod and FreeUI, so you will need to install them. If you leave their checkboxes enabled, a browser window will open with the pages for these mods, where you can download them.
Install Objective Points Mod and FreeUI.
Launch DoW Mod Manager and select Tyranid Mod in the bottom-left corner.
