DoWPro is a large-scale balance and gameplay modification for Dawn of War: Soulstorm and Definitive Edition. The mod has been in development for many years and is aimed primarily at competitive multiplayer, though it works excellently for skirmish as well.

The core idea of DoWPro (Dawn of War Professional) is straightforward: restore the feel of the classic Dawn of War: Game of the Year Edition — with clear counters, tactical depth, and every unit retaining its value at all stages of the game. Since the original Soulstorm has long gone without patches, DoWPro effectively replaces official support for those who want a fair competitive experience.
DoWPro addresses one of the core problems of the original Soulstorm — unit obsolescence. Here, every squad upgraded in the early tiers remains useful until the end of the match. The tech tree allows powerful units to be unlocked earlier than before, and the economic system has been reworked so that every resource decision matters.
The hard counter system from DoW GOTY has been restored: every unit has both vulnerabilities and the ability to effectively counter specific enemies. This forces players to constantly analyse the opponent's army and pick counter-units rather than simply spamming one overpowered unit. Micromanagement deserves special mention: the movement accuracy penalty from Dark Crusade has been removed — "run and gun" is back in action! The game has become far more demanding of player skill.
Each race has been reworked with a focus on a unique playstyle:
Space Marines — an elite long-range army with powerful auras and buffs, dominating through critical mass of firepower.
Chaos — emphasis on melee combat and daemonic support; the Heretic with Forced Labour creates an asymmetry in the early game.
Orks — a reworked melee horde with a "mob" system: the more of them clumped together, the stronger they become. They reinforce squads faster during combat.
Eldar — highly specialised units, relying on unpredictability built around the Webway, teleportation, and glass cannons.
Imperial Guard — wave after wave of infantry, siege warfare, tunnels, overwhelming by numbers.
Tau — mobile fire support, stealth, jetpacks, and ambushes; the second-tier tech tree branches into two development paths.
Necrons — raids via teleportation, unit resurrection, disabling enemy weapons through the Solar Pulse.
Dark Eldar — a race with an early tempo advantage and aggressive raiding through temporary Webway portals.
Sisters of Battle — an aggressive army fuelled by the Faith resource, focused on close-to-mid-range weapons and strong early-game pressure.
DoWPro is the choice for those who want a balanced, deep, and fair Dawn of War experience — free from overpowered unit spam and army obsolescence.
