SilentPatch for NFS 90s is a modification for the classic late-1990s Need for Speed games, from NFS2: Special Edition to NFS: Porsche Unleashed. Since unofficial patches already exist for these games, the author focused on problems that those patches either missed or introduced themselves.

The mod does not change the game's text, interface, or voice acting. It is compatible with all language versions.
SilentPatch for NFS 90s is intended for NFS2: Special Edition, NFS3: Hot Pursuit, NFS4: High Stakes, and NFS: Porsche Unleashed. It is compatible with VEG’s Modern Patches (NFS3/NFS4) and Verok’s (NFS2SE/NFS Porsche), although installing them is not required.
Main fixes:
Thread affinity to a single core, while keeping multithreading for worker threads, improves stability and performance. It is enabled with SingleProcAffinity=1 in the INI file.
Game crashes on launch caused by DirectInput errors on Windows 10+ have been fixed.
Serious memory leaks in the OpenGL1/OpenGL3 drivers after each race have been fixed (NFS Porsche).
Keyboard freezing after Alt+Tab during a race has been fixed (NFS Porsche).
A bug that caused online races to display only in the upper half of the screen has been fixed (NFS2SE).
Incorrect gamepad button handling for controllers with more than 15 buttons, such as the Xbox One Controller, has been fixed (NFS2SE).
Other fixes:
Alt+F4 now works correctly.
Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock no longer reset when the game starts.
Mouse cursor stuttering and freezing in menus when using high-polling-rate mice has been fixed (NFS2SE/NFS3/NFS4).
A controller polling bug that caused incompatibility with DirectInput wrappers such as Xidi has been fixed (NFS2SE/NFS3/NFS4).
Text can now be pasted into text fields with Ctrl+V.
