Seeing the enormous unrealised potential of the original WW3 mod by 47gaming (Vietnam) and finding that its development had been discontinued, the author took matters into their own hands: fixed numerous bugs, optimised textures, cleaned the project of unnecessary files, added new features, and significantly improved game performance.
Battlefield 2043 features 5 factions: Russia, Russia (alt.), China, USA (male), and USA (female). 112 maps are available — 22 base maps and 90 from the community. Recommended bot count: 48; exceeding this value may cause instability.
Known issues and solutions
Set video quality to High, view distance scale to 100%, and Anti-Aliasing to Off (to avoid texture flickering).
Audio renderer: Hardware, sound quality — Medium.
Rare crashes when switching maps are a known BF2 engine issue (memory leak). Simply restart the game and reload the map.
How to install a mod Battlefield 2043
Make sure you have a clean version of Battlefield 2.
Move the contents of the archive to the mods folder at Battlefield 2/mods/
In the mod folder, launch one of the .bat files — BF2043 Fullscreen.bat or BF2043 Windowed.bat
